About Anne
My love of art was fostered by my parents who were both artists in the 1960’s. My father, Hubert Buel, was a water-colorist in San Fransisco, CA. My mother, Barbara Astrella Buel, moved to Taos to live and paint. She painted in watercolor and pastel. I began my artistic journey as a quilter and I have transitioned from creating large fabric pieces for public spaces to small paintings for personal spaces. I enjoy the spontaneity of pastel and recently the buttery quality of oils. I work in my home studio in Taos New Mexico.
